John Maye Associates of Wisconsin, Inc. (JMA) is a material handling equipment and service provider serving the state of Wisconsin. As a company we have close to 50 years of experience in this industry. The following is a brief history of who we are and how we got started.
John Maye Associates was started in 1958 by John G. Maye. John got his start by first selling Bostitch staplers for closing cartons and Bunn Co. string tiers. After a few years he added Lewis-Shepard fork lifts and then later the Caterpillar line of fork lifts. In the 60's, Eggers & Haight Co. was folded into JMA bringing with it Whiting Cranes, Trambeam patented rail products and associated hoist lines, which was the beginning of the material handling equipment business within John Maye Associates. In the early 70's the fork lift line was sold and John concentrated on the Packaging and Material Handling groups which by now were separate divisions within John Maye. Later, allied lines were added including pallet rack and shelving which lead to the formation of a 3rd division - Storage Products. By the 80's each of the 3 divisions were prospering. John eventually fazed out of the business by first selling the packaging division, then the storage division. Finally, with the selling of the material handling division, John Maye Associates – Material Handling Systems was born in 1989. John Maye Associates has always been known for the motto "Quality is Economy" and to this day we still proudly include this phrase in our logo.
